Welcome to the Samaritans of Bristol County's website. Suicide Awareness Education is an important and effective suicide prevention tool.
Through our outreach program, The Samaritans provides education, training on identifying those at risk of suicide and suicide prevention strategies.
Teen Suicide is now thought to be the second leading cause of death for ages 15 through 19 and rising rapidly.
Suicide and the Elderly, those 65 and older, have the highest suicide rate of any age group in the United States.
The Samaritans of Bristol County is now scheduling appointments for volunteers.
Class starts February 4, 2017
This is a great opportunity for students looking to complete their internship credits.
If you're in a program such as, Human Service, Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice or in Healthcare - Samaritans may be the perfect internship for you. Volunteers are specially trained to work our crisis line - we also reach out to those interested in office administration... or business administration.
Hours are flexible and can be tailored to fit students schedule.
